Position:

  • Manufacturing Engineer II

Compensation Depending on Skills and Experience

$65,000-$80,000

Preferred Background:

  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering Discipline + 2 years manufacturing related experience, or

  • Associates of Science (or 2+ years of pre-engineering course work) + 2 years of manufacturing related experience, or

  • 4 years of manufacturing related experience, specific to the areas of interest below.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Strong work ethic.

  • Experience reading material/technical specifications.

  • Experience reading machining drawings, including GD&T.

  • Experience reading weldment drawings, including AWS weld symbols.

  • Purchasing experience.

  • CAD modeling/drafting experience (e.g. AutoCad, Solidworks, Cero, etc.)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.

  • Experience with ERP Software (e.g. SAP, Global Shop, Mapics, etc.)

  • Experience working with NQA-1, ASME, MIL, DOE, NavSea type codes and standards.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Good math skills.

 

Job Description:

  • Manage technical aspects of manufacturing projects from receipt of customer PO to shipment.

  • Determine material, fabrication, inspection, and testing requirements from customer PO, customer specifications, and/or standard specifications (e.g. NQA-1, ASTM, ASME, API, ISO, etc.).

  • Interface with production planning to discuss optimum machining/manufacturing approach.

  • Create bills of material, manufacturing instructions (routers), weld maps, inspection reports, test reports, etc. for production and inspection activities.

  • Create test plans (pressure, load, electrical, etc.), perform testing, write test reports.

  • Purchase materials and outside services to support projects.

  • Select and manage outside vendors related to projects.

  • Frequent communication/guidance to production personnel regarding welding/assembly of projects.

  • Frequent technical communication with outside vendors.

  • Frequent technical communication with customer engineering groups.

  • CAD/Modeling, as needed to support projects.

  • Fixture design, as needed to support projects.

  • Temporary assignment to other activities/duties as needed to support the business.
